Jan Embree-Bever Endowed Scholarship

Jan Embree-Bever has worked in both direct and indirect service capacities in the juvenile justice system as well as the alcohol and drug treatment system. As a founding member of the Denver Juvenile Justice Integrated Treatment Network, Jan was a primary architect of the now-thriving Center for High-Risk Youth Studies (CHRYS) at MSU Denver and wishes to assist students who are pursuing a career working with this special population.

• Be meeting the University’s Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) requirements and cannot be in default or owe any refund/repayment of federal, state or institutional aid
• Be a student enrolled in Human Services – Center for High-Risk Youth Studies
• Have a 3.0 GPA
• Have a financial need as determined by FAFSA / CASFA and the Metropolitan State University of Denver Office Financial Aid and Scholarships
• Be a new or returning student
• Write an essay stating why you are interested in pursuing a career working with high-risk youth

Preference to be a non-traditional, single-parent student
