Barbara J Jacobs Memorial Accounting Endowed Scholarship

Purpose:
The Fund is established to provide scholarships to Accounting Students.

The Barbara J Jacobs Memorial Accounting Endowed Scholarship was established in loving memory of Barbara J Jacobs. Edward L Jacobs and Edward L Jacobs Jr. created the scholarship to recognize her commitment to the field of accounting and to inspire students to overcome obstacles and persist toward their dreams. The scholarship provides tuition assistance to Metropolitan State University of Denver students pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree in accounting.

Barb was a stay-at-home mom from the time she was married in 1973 for her two sons before embarking on her career in accounting. Barb graduated from MSU Denver in 1994 with a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting and subsequently earned a second degree in computer information systems in 2003. She worked for the MSU Denver Office of Student Accounts from 1998 to 2000 and for the State of Colorado for 13 years in various accounting roles before retiring in 2013.

In her free time, Barb enjoyed riding motorcycles across the country with her family and friends. She loved to take pictures of the scenery, birds in flight, and the other riders in the pack. Additionally, she was passionate about crocheting and knitting and had a love for all her many animals.
