Activist Endowed Scholarship: Stop waiting for the world to change, change it yourself.
Purpose:
To support students who are actively engaged in efforts to support positive social change in economic and/or social justice.
Criteria:
• Be meeting the University’s Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) requirements and cannot be in default or owe any refund/repayment of federal, state or institutional aid
• Have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0
• Have completed a minimum of 15 credit hours at the University
• Applicants must submit a 2-page essay that answers the question: When considering the multitude of issues facing the planet right now from creating peace to feminist concerns, LGBTQIA rights, racial and ethnic equality, human rights, and the environment, what do you perceive as the most pertinent social justice concern and why? How have you endeavored to address this through your activist work, either on-campus or off-campus or both?" Please respond to this question in a two-page essay format.
There is a preference to support students engaged in the community and/or campus activism.
