NextGen Accounting & Finance Endowed Scholarship

Purpose:
The Fund is established to provide scholarships to students in the University’s Department of Accounting and Department of Finance.

The Fund is established by donor Charles L. (Chucky) Moss Jr., who wishes to expose award recipients to educational opportunities, internships, mentorships, and connections with like-minded students and industry professionals through membership in NABA, Inc., participation in campus sponsored organizations, events, and services.

As an accounting student at MSU Denver, Chucky gained practical, hands-on training, career guidance from seasoned leaders, an expanded professional network, and a pathway to long-term success in the industry by engaging, fully, in the MSU Denver opportunity.

Criteria:
The scholarship recipient shall:
• Be meeting the University’s Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) requirements and not be in default or owe any refund/repayment of federal, state or institutional aid
• Have financial need as determined by FAFSA/CASFA and the University’s Office of Financial Aid and Scholarships
• Have a declared major in Accounting or Finance
• Be an undergraduate student of sophomore standing, or above
• Be a first-generation student
• Be enrolled full-time (12 or more credit hours)
• Have a cumulative grade point average of 2.5 or higher
• Be a member of NABA Inc.
• Write an essay of at least 500 words detailing how your engagement with NABA Inc. has supported your personal and professional development and increased your understanding of the importance of expanding opportunities for underrepresented populations in the accounting and finance industry.
