IME Becas Scholarship
Purpose:
The Institute of Mexicans in the Exterior (IME), through the consulate of Mexico, provides financial support to students to expand access to higher education and support their academic success and community advancement in the United States.
Criteria:
- Be enrolled as a full-time degree-seeking, undergraduate student (12 or more credits)
- Must be classified as in-state for tuition purposes
- Complete 2026-2027 CASFA or FAFSA before August 17
- Financial aid eligible
- Connections to Mexico, whether it be through family, birth, or former domicile OR Submit an essay/personal statement in English (no more than 500 words) describing financial need, professional aspirations, and your connection to Mexico
Factors to be considered include academic merit, academic growth, financial need, and personal statement.
In compliance with the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act of 1974 (FERPA), educational institutions are prohibited from releasing student education records without your consent. Additional information regarding FERPA and educational records can be located in the university catalog on the MSU Denver webpage.
When completing this form, if selected for the scholarship you are authorizing MSU Denver to release ALL educational records, as defined in 20 U.S.C. 1232g, and which may include, but are not limited to, transcripts, social security number, and disciplinary records to Colorado Dept. of Higher Education for the purpose of college tracking only for long term use. This authorization will remain in effect until student withdraws this authorization in writing to the Office of the Registrar.
