Vonnie L. Viles Endowed Scholarship

Purpose:
To honor the late Ms. Viles, a friend of Metropolitan State University of Denver, by providing assistance to a dedicated, hard-working, goal-oriented student enabling the student to expand the educational experience. The purpose of this scholarship is to provide an opportunity for a motivated, aspiring student to expand their educational abilities by way of a trust fund set up by family, friends, and colleagues in the name of Vonnie Viles. Vonnie was a person who embraced life to the fullest and lived with the utmost vigor and grace. One of the most important aspects of her life was her education at Metropolitan State University of Denver. This scholarship is to commemorate that experience and is dedicated to her.

Criteria:
The scholarship recipient shall:
• Be meeting the University’s Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) requirements and cannot be in default or owe any refund/repayment of federal, state, or institutional aid
• Have a 3.2 or higher cumulative GPA
• Be enrolled in a minimum of 12 credit hours
• Have a declared major
• Be a Colorado resident
• Be employed at least 35 hours per week
