Hilderbrand Athletic/Academic Endowed Scholarship
Purpose:
The purpose of the Fund is to provide scholarships to student athlete’s who have a declared major in the College of Business at the University.
Jerry graduated summa cum laude in 1974 with a degree in accounting, and went on to have a successful career with Arthur Anderson and Adolph Coors before starting his own full service accounting firm in Colorado Springs. He developed an expertise in forensic accounting and worked over 300 cases. Jerry sold his business in 2010 and now works as a consultant.
Criteria:
• Be meeting the University’s Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) requirements and cannot be in default or owe any refund/repayment of federal, state or institutional aid
• Have a minimum cumulative GPA of at least 3.0
• Be a student athlete at the University, eligible under NCAA rules and regulations. First preference is granted to student athletes who participates in men’s basketball, women’s basketball, baseball or volleyball. Second preference is granted to student athletes who participate in softball, men’s soccer or women’s soccer. Third preference is granted to student athletes who participate in all other sports
• Have a declared major in the College of Business at the University. First preference is granted to student athletes who major in accounting. Second preference is granted to student athletes who major in finance. It is the Donor’s preference that the scholarship not be given to student athletes who major in Marketing
• Sport participation preferences shall be prioritized over academic major preferences
• Be a sophomore, junior, senior, or graduate student
