Dimond First-Year Enrollment Endowed Scholarship

Purpose:
The ‘Dimond First-Year Enrollment Endowed Scholarship’ exists to provide scholarships to first-year, first-generation hospitality students to encourage them to enroll at the University and declare a major in hospitality.

Rita and Navin Dimond founded Stonebridge Companies in 1991 and have grown it to become one of the nation’s leading development and hospitality management companies. The Dimond family has supported the University since 1999, providing scholarships, funding student support staff and offering the prestigious Dimond Fellowship at select Stonebridge hotels. The fellowship offers real-world learning opportunities for hospitality students as they prepare to become future leaders in the industry. The Dimond Family Foundation has been one of the University’s largest donors and members of the family are personally involved in the University’s School of Hospitality.

Criteria:
The scholarship recipient shall:
• Be meeting the University’s Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) requirements and cannot be in default or owe any refund/repayment of federal, state or institutional aid.
• Have financial need as determined by the Free Application for Financial Student Aid (FAFSA) or Colorado Application for State Financial Aid (CAFSA) and the University’s Office of Financial Aid and Scholarships.
• Have a completed and current general scholarship application on file.
• Be a first-year student (freshman class standing)
• Be a first-generation student
• Be enrolled in 12 or more credit hours during the semester the scholarship is received
• Have a declared major in the University’s School of Hospitality

The scholarship is open to DACA/ASSET students.
