Women’s Foundation of Colorado Scholarship
Purpose:
The Fund exists to provide scholarships to University students.
The Women’s Foundation of Colorado catalyzes community to advance and accelerate economic opportunities for Colorado women and their families. Through this scholarship WFCO seeks to empower women with the tools, resources, and support needed to pursue and complete their higher-education goals, offering pathways to higher-paying, sustainable careers for women through scholarships to address immediate educational needs and foster long-term economic mobility and leadership opportunities for women across Colorado. Criteria:
The scholarship recipient shall:
• Be meeting the University’s Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) requirements and cannot be in default or owe any refund/repayment of federal, state or institutional aid
• Have financial need as determined by FAFSA/CAFSA and the University’s Office of Financial Aid and Scholarships
• Be enrolled in at least one course
• Be a Colorado resident
• Have Senior class-standing with plans to graduate in the current academic year.
• Have a declared major in the University’s College of Business, College of Health and Human Sciences, College of Aerospace, Computing, Engineering, and Design, School of Education, or a declared major in Psychology or Human Development/Psychological Sciences
• Participate in Classroom to Career Hub Scholarship Support Program and mandated requirements
• Write an essay (approximately 500 words) explaining what gender, racial, and economic security look like for women. What barriers (if any) currently prevent women from experiencing gender, racial, and/or economic security?
