Meredith Wetzel Memorial Endowed Scholarship

Purpose:
Meredith Wetzel (1964-1974) was the daughter of David N. and Joy Lynn (Jodi) Wetzel. She died at the age of ten after an eight-year struggle with Leukemia. Her parents, her brother Richard Wetzel and wife Mary Ruppe Wetzel, and other family members have established this scholarship in honor of her memory and to support the education of students at Metropolitan State University of Denver who have struggled with a life-threatening illness or injury.

Criteria:
• Be meeting the University’s Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) requirements and cannot be in default or owe any refund/repayment of federal, state or institutional aid.
• Have a general scholarship application on file.
• Have a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5
• Submit an essay describing their personal experience dealing with a life-threatening illness or injury.
