Glenn and Julie Morey Annual Scholarship

Purpose:
The fund is established to encourage and support individuals in the MSU Denver Epic Scholars Program. Epic Scholars is a Metropolitan State University of Denver program aimed at connecting, supporting, and empowering students who’ve emerged from the foster care system and other difficult backgrounds—all of whom aspire to achieve greatness through higher education. The Epic Scholars’ mission is built on championing the desire to overcome, unlocking the potential within, and delivering the opportunities foster alumni and other independent students need to succeed. And at its core, the program aims to be the bridge between inner belief and outward ambition, lighting a pathway toward a better future for these students and the community they represent.

Criteria
Have aged out of foster care, kinship care, group homes, or otherwise independent on their FAFSA,
Be an active member of the Epic Scholars Program and have completed all program requirements including the Action Plan,
Be enrolled at least 12 hours in the semester(s) the scholarship is received,
Maintain a term GPA of at least 2.75 (A “grace period” of one semester allowed for a student to recover should the semester GPA drop below 2.75).

There is a preference to support the same student(s) annually to graduation. There is a preference for students who have an interest in healthcare or STEM (Science, Technology, English, Math) fields.
