Seeley Family Scholarship

Purpose:
The Fund is established to provide scholarships to Math and Nursing Majors, and Student-Athletes at Metropolitan State University of Denver.

Both Michael Seeley and Rachella Seeley attended MSU Denver in the ’70s and Michael graduated from MSU Denver in 1972 with a degree in Mathematics. He was inducted into the MSU Denver Hall of Fame for Men’s Basketball. Mike continues to be involved with MSU Denver having served on the Board of Directors of both the MSU Denver Alumni Association and the MSU Denver Foundation. He is also a member of the Roadrunner Club and the President’s Society.

Criteria:
The scholarship recipient shall:
• Be meeting the University’s Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) requirements and cannot be in default or owe any refund/repayment of federal, state or institutional aid.
• Have financial need as determined by FAFSA and the University’s Office of Financial Aid and Scholarships
• Have a cumulative GPA of 2.5 or higher
• Be an undergraduate student

Preferences:
Be pursuing a major within Mathematics Dept, a major within the Nursing Program, or be a student Athlete with any major.
Be enrolled at least half-time (6 or more credit hours)
Be a first-generation student
Be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident
Be employed at least 10 hours a week while pursuing a degree
The scholarship is renewable (contingent on available funds).
