Peter Durbin Memorial Endowed Scholarship

Purpose:
The purpose of this scholarship is to honor Peter Durbin who was an outstanding young man, a dedicated student, an active member of the Earth Sciences Club and a committed environmentalist who loved outdoor activities. He died on June 4, 1997 while kayaking on Clear Creek. He had been a student at MSU Denver for four years and planned to graduate in the spring of 1998 with a major in environmental science. He showed significant growth academically at MSU Denver, resulting in his being on the honor roll for two years and having a 3.67 GPA. His death was a loss for the university, the community and his family and friends.

Criteria:
• Have a minimum 12 credit hour enrollment
• Have 30 credit hours completed
• Have and maintain a cumulative 3.0 GPA
• Be an Environmental Science major (EAS major with Land Use emphasis if no Environmental Science major qualifies)

Preference for financial need, based on FAFSA.
Renewal of the scholarship is contingent on available funds
