Wilson-Netzel Endowed Scholarship

Purpose:
The purpose of the scholarship is to benefit physics student(s) enrolled in the College of Letters Arts and Sciences at Metropolitan State University of Denver.

Dr. Jerry Wilson first came to Metropolitan State College of Denver in 1965. During his 30 years in the Physics department, he was the first and only Chair. He received approval for the major in 1968 and pioneered our cooperation with UCD physics that provides students with twice the number of classes and faculty. Dr. Richard Netzel originally came to Metropolitan State College of Denver in 1972 as Vice-President of Academic Affairs. He transferred to the Physics Department in 1983 and he concentrated on science education for K-12. He created the first multi-disciplinary course in science for elementary education students and designed a broad-based science major for education majors.

Criteria:
• Have a declared major in Physics
• Have a minimum 2.5 GPA
