Kappa Delta Pi Student Teaching Endowed Scholarship
Purpose
The Pi Nu chapter of Kappa Delta Pi, an international teaching honor society in education, recognizes the financial strain often associated with student teaching for Metropolitan State University of Denver students and wishes to provide support for a talented student, preferably a member of Kappa Delta Pi, during this phase of their teacher education. The purpose of this scholarship is to provide scholarship funds for tuition, fees, books, or basic living costs (i.e. housing, food, child care) to one or more highly motivated, outstanding student(s) who will be doing their (his/her) student teaching.
Criteria
• Have financial need based on FAFSA
• Be entering into the student teaching phase for teacher certification
• Have a minimum 2.75 GPA if preparing for secondary education teaching and 2.5 GPA if preparing for elementary teaching
• Be a highly motivated, outstanding student moving toward student teaching
• Preference to members of Kappa Delta Pi honorary society
