Karen Raforth Student Engagement & Wellness Endowed Scholarship
Purpose:
This scholarship is an expression of the donor’s respect and admiration for the leadership of Dr. Karen Raforth, former Dean of Student Life, and the Student Life staff who so skillfully serve the students of MSU Denver. It is intended to reward the contributions of Student Engagement & Wellness student employees and to encourage their progress toward a degree. The minimum scholarship award should be $500.
Criteria:
- Be a Metropolitan State University of Denver student in good academic standing, making appropriate progress toward degree completion;
- Must have been successfully employed by any Student Engagement & Wellness office or program for at least two (2) semesters;
- Be enrolled for at least six credit hours while receiving the scholarship.
Preferences include a recipient who represents the rich diversity of the Metropolitan State University of Denver student body; and the recipient to be an active community volunteer.

- Please submit an essay of 500-1000 words that encompasses each of the following areas: (a) outstanding customer service skills, (b) professionalism displayed on the job, (c) initiative- going above and beyond the job description, (d) additional service to the University or the community, (e) and why you feel you are a deserving candidate for this scholarship.
- Please provide a name and email address of an on-campus reference provider who can provide a letter of recommendation. This should be an on-campus supervisor or another professional staff member within the department you are employed in.
