Dr. Gerald J. Fenger Memorial Endowed Scholarship

Purpose:
The Fund is to provide scholarship(s) that support students enrolled as English majors in the College of Letters, Arts and Sciences at MSU Denver.

The purpose of this scholarship is to honor the memory of Dr. Gerald J. Fenger. Susan Marie Fenger, Dr. Fenger’s widow, authorized this method of recognition of this extraordinary man, who for 23 years served the college well. Starting out as an English professor in 1967, Dr. Fenger was elected by faculty members to be the first Faculty Senate Vice President. In addition, he served as acting Faculty Senate President from September 1979 until his death in 1990.

Criteria:
• Be an English major
• Have a minimum 2.75 GPA
• Have financial need based on FAFSA
• Have a minimum 15 credit hour enrollment
• Applicants will provide a writing sample on a topic determined annually by the English Department.
