Leonard A & Anna B Fair Memorial & Diversity Scholarship

Purpose:
The purpose of this scholarship is to provide financial assistance towards tuition and other educational expenses to benefiit one or more students at MSU Denver majoring or minoring in Modern Foreign Languages.

This scholarship is established to honor Leonard Augustus Fair (1884-1980) and Anna Brady Fair (1891-1972), Colorado homesteaders and longtime residents of Denver. Mr. Fair was a quiet, gentle, patient man known to be at his strongest when life was at its toughest. Mrs. Fair was bright and intelligent woman with a strong interest in education. They encouraged their only child, Jeane Decline Fair, to attain the highest degree of education, which she honored by receiving a Ph.D. in Modern Languages. Dr. Fair was an esteemed founding member of the faculty of The Metropolitan State University of Denver from 1965 through 1972.

Criteria:
• Be a Colorado resident & U.S. citizen
• Have financial need based on FAFSA
• Be degree-seeking student with major or minor in modern languages or Spanish
• Have a cumulative 3.0 GPA
• Have 60 credit hours completed with a minimum of 12 credit hour enrollment

Preference given to:
Students with demonstrated community service or volunteer experience.
Students also seeking a teaching certificate at MSU Denver
