Pamela McIntyre-Marcum Memorial Endowed Scholarship

Purpose:
To provide scholarships that support students who have overcome issues of violence.

Criteria:
• Be meeting MSU Denver’s Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) requirements and cannot be in default or owe any refund/repayment of federal, state or institutional aid
• Be enrolled for at least 6 credit hours during the semester(s) the scholarship is received
• Have confronted issues of violence
• Have financial need per the MSU Denver Office of Financial Aid and Scholarships as determined by the completion of a FAFSA /CASFA Application
• Demonstrate academic potential, as determined by the selection committee

This scholarship will be open to all ASSET, DACA and Undocumented students.
There is a preference for the recipient to be woman-identified or gender non-binary.

  1. Attach a typed 300-600 word essay answering one of the following: 1. Please share with us how you removed yourself from the violent situation, in as much or as little detail as you are comfortable with, as well as what you are doing to move forward in your life, OR 2. Alternatively, if you are not able to tell your story right now, please share with us a story of a significant risk you have taken and how it has affected your life.
  2. Are you or will you be taking at least 6 credit hours during the semester of the award?
  3. Have you confronted issues of violence?
  4. Do you identify as a woman or gender non-binary person?
