Curran-Fife Electrical Engineering Technology/STEM Annual Scholarship

Purpose
The Fund is established to support a promising student in their pursuit of a career in electrical engineering. The purpose of this scholarship is to enable a dedicated, goal-directed young person with significant financial need to succeed as a full-time student and contribute to society as an engineering professional. The donor had an EE career that focused on power, communications, and circuit design, and he is passionate about supporting a student who could contribute in these disciplines.

Criteria
The scholarship recipient shall:
• Be meeting the University’s Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) requirements and cannot be in default or owe any refund/repayment of federal, state or institutional aid
• Have significant financial need, must be Pell eligible as determined by FAFSA/CASFA and the University’s Office Financial Aid and Scholarships-EFC (Estimated Family Contribution) must be less than $5811. EFC amount is subject to change
each academic year, but the student Pell requirement will remain as set criteria
• Be an undergraduate student
• Be enrolled in 12 or more credit hours during the semester(s) the scholarship is received
• Have a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5
• Have a declared STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math) major
• Be classified as a sophomore, junior or senior
• Must complete an essay (500 words) that addresses the following: Tell us about your commitment to your STEM major and any coursework you have completed within your major.

There is a preference for one student to receive the scholarship so full tuition and fees are covered for one academic year.
The scholarship is renewable for up to three years as long as the student meets the criteria each year.

Preference is for DACA/ASSET and Dreamer students.
International students are not eligible.
