Felix & Sandra Magalong Scholarship in Memory of the Bataan Death March

Purpose:
This fund is established in honor of Capt. (RET.) Felix B. Magalong Sr.’s thirty year military career in the U.S. Army, and the strong commitment that he had – and his wife continues to have – to education. Capt. Magalong fought in WWII and Korean War, was captured, and endured the Bataan Death March and nine months confinement in a POW camp in the Philippines. (Visit www.axpow.org/magalongfelix.htm for more information.) He obtained his GED while in the Army, enrolled at Metropolitan State University of Denver after retirement, and graduated Magna Cum Laude in 1978. Capt. Magalong and Sandra strongly advocated for a good education, community service and volunteerism. They are well respected in the Filipino-American community in Metro Denver.
