Jim Altman Annual Guitar Scholarship

Purpose:
To honor Jim Altman, Michael Altman’s younger brother. Jim loved music and attended San Jose State University. Michael Altman wishes to establish a scholarship in Jim’s name to help guitar students with their financial need.

Criteria:
• Be a student accepted into the guitar performance program at the time of application
• Be enrolled for a minimum of 12 credit hours at the time of application
• Have a minimum cumulative MSU Denver GPA of 2.5, or transfer or high school GPA of 2.5 for new MSU Denver students
• Be an outstanding student and guitarist who has displayed an interest in additional guitar styles beyond classical
• Exceptions to these criteria may be made in unusual circumstances if approved by the Chair of the Department of Music

Financial need as determined by the FAFSA and the Metropolitan State University of Denver Office of Financial Aid and Scholarships may be considered as part of the selection process.
