Western Union Immigrant Student Annual Scholarship

Purpose:
The Fund is established to provide scholarships to first-year immigrant students to support their academic success and help them persist toward graduation.

Criteria:
The scholarship recipient shall:
• Be an immigrant student in their first semester of college
• Be meeting the University’s Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) requirements and cannot be in default or owe any refund/repayment of federal, state or institutional aid
• Be a Permanent Resident, Asylee, or Refugee
• Be taking a minimum of 6 credit hours during the semester the scholarship is received

In compliance with the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act of 1974 (FERPA), educational institutions are prohibited from releasing student education records without your consent. Additional information regarding FERPA and educational records can be located in the university catalog on the MSU Denver webpage.
When completing this form, if selected for the scholarship you are authorizing MSU Denver to release ALL educational records, as defined in 20 U.S.C. 1232g, and which may include, but are not limited to, transcripts, social security number, and disciplinary records to Colorado Dept. of Higher Education for the purpose of college tracking only for long term use. This authorization will remain in effect until student withdraws this authorization in writing to the Office of the Registrar.
