Mary Ann Watson Psychology Endowed Scholarship
To provide assistance with tuition, fees, books, and other expenses for one or more students pursuing a degree with a major in psychology or human development at Metropolitan State University of Denver.
• Be in compliance with MSU Denver’s Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) requirements and not be in default or owe any refund/repayment of federal, state or institutional aid • Be taking a minimum of 12 credit hours during the semester(s) the scholarship is received • Have a declared major in psychology or human development • Financial need as determined by the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and the Metropolitan State University of Denver Office of Financial Aid. • Maintain a minimum grade point average of at least 3.0 in his or her classes in psychology or human development and an overall cumulative grade point average of not less than 3.0; however a cumulative GPA of 2.5 may be considered if the selection committee feels that is appropriate • Have an expectation upon graduation of teaching or practicing in the area of psychology or human development • Submit an essay that discusses their career plan involving psychology or human development

- To apply for this scholarship, the selection committee requires that you construct an original essay addressing the following question: “Describe your future career plans including what inspired your interest in the area of Psychology or Human Development and what do you hope to achieve with your degree.” Your essay must be typed, in 12-point font, and a maximum of one double-spaced page
- Attach a current resume
- Names of 2 references, at least one of whom must be a MSU faculty member.
