Marshall Family Endowed Scholarship

Purpose:
Scholarships to benefit first-generation college students attending MSU Denver.
We believe that improving graduation rates for first-generation college students has a transformational effect on the individual, the family, and the community. Our hope is that, by making financial assistance available, more first-generation students will be able to complete their college degrees and be better equipped to improve their lives and the lives in their community and to begin a tradition of college attendance in their families. Scholarships are to benefit first-generation college students attending Metropolitan State College of Denver.

Criteria:
The scholarship recipient shall:
• Be a first-generation college student
• Be enrolled in 12 or more credit hours during the semester the scholarship is received
• Have financial need as determined by the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and the Metropolitan State College of Denver Scholarship Center
• Have a high school transfer GPA of 2.0 or greater if a freshman or a cumulative GP A of 2.0 or greater if a continuing student (sophomore, junior or senior)
