Banfi Wine Scholars Annual Scholarship

The Banfi Wine Scholars Program will support MSU Denver students interested in developing a deeper understanding and knowledge of the wine industry.
• Be in compliance with MSU Denver’s Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) requirements and not be in default or owe any refund/repayment of federal, state or institutional aid • Have completed the MSU Denver Office of Financial Aid Scholarship Application • Have a declared major in Hospitality, Tourism & Events at Metropolitan State University of Denver • Demonstrated background, interest and qualifications in wine and the beverage field, and the cuisine and culture of Italy • Students may apply for this scholarship following instructions given by the faculty of the Hospitality, Tourism & Events each year

  1. Do you have a demonstrated background, interest and qualifications in wine and the beverage field, and the cuisine and culture of Italy?
  2. Do you have at least 3 years experience working in food and beverage, and an interest in a career in food and beverage management? Apply for this scholarship following instructions given by the faculty of the Hospitality, Tourism and Events Department.
  3. HTE Course Information
    • Beverage Certificates or non-credit educational courses taken/achieved:
    • Date and title of future beverage courses, certificate programs or study abroad that you plan to take

Please write an essay of at least 500 words describing your background, interests and qualifications in the beverage field, to be considered as an applicant for the Banfi Wine Scholars Annual Scholarship at MSU Denver. In this essay be sure to review how your preparation to date in work experience, courses and certificates have prepared you for a career in the food and beverage field. If you have plans to take additional courses, study abroad or wine certificate courses, please mention how the scholarship will assist you in your educational and career goals.
  5. As an IDP major, are you currently enrolled in a beverage course or courses that focus on wines of the world, such as Wine and Food, Wines of the Old World, Wines of the New World, and Wine Fundamentals?
